NSP
Coatings Ltd operate both track and box oven facilities
offering a range of coatings including polyester, epoxy
polyester and specialist coatings for industry across the
South East of England. The page below details the scope
of NSP's powder coating services.
We have been operating for over eleven years and with many more years experience between our staff working with steel, aluminium and galvanised.
With a lot of our work in gates, railings and stair cases, unless otherwise stated we always Shot blast, Zinc powder prime coat then polyester Powder coat finish to give the best robust and cosmetic finish.
We are currently carrying out work using a three-coat system once shot blasted we then apply Zinc primer then a build coat primer and finally the RAL polyester Powder coat finish.
Also using “warm to the touch” coating for the new handrail regulations, Plascoat PPA571 Polymer Alloy coating to 300 microns to cover handrails and balustrade.
At NSP we can cater for your job whether it be a small one off item to large on going work requiring specified systems.
Powder coat systems we also use:
Akzo Nobel Extra Life up to 15 years
Overall track capacity 1.5 tonne
We carry out polyester powder coating in a wide range of colours, thicknesses and textures to customer specification. Polyester coatings are suited to indoor and outdoor use and possess high resistance to weathering as well as elevated temperatures. All polyester powder coatings are applied over a pretreated surface which ensures a tough and flexible finish resistant to cracking and flaking and have a thickness of 140-250µm including the Akzo Nobel zinc rich primer and depending on the specification required.

Epoxy polyester powder coatings provide a high performance finish with good chemical resistance and colour stability. Epoxy polyester is designed for indoor use in factory and process environments or applications subject to enhanced corrosion resistance. Epoxy polyester is easy to apply and results in a uniform even finish with a thickness of 30-70µm.

We carry out epoxy powder coating in a wide range of colours, thicknesses and textures to customer specification. Epoxy coatings are suited to indoor applications and when applied over a pretreated surface ensures a tough and chemical resistant finish with a dry film thickness of 50-70µm.

We are certified Cromadex Extra Life applicators of C3 classification coatings which are garanteed for up to 15 years. The Extra Life system has been developed to protect against a wide range of environments, from the interiors of heated buildings to much more aggressive external situations, such as industrial or coastal areas. Our certification, which can be seen to the right covers the following:

We
offer a clear anti-graffiti powder coating which when combined
with a suitable cleaning technology allows the removal
of graffiti without altering the original surface finish.
The coating provides a 50-70µm dry film finish. The
system is resistant to many different kinds of marker pens
and aerosols, meets London Underground anti-graffiti requirements
and offers a hard wearing surface finish.
To satisfy part M1 & M2 of the UK's Building Regulations, Access to and Use of Buildings, which requires that new handrails need to be "slip resistant and not cold to the touch" we now offer a thermoplastic polymer alloy coating. The coating is available in a wide range of colours and finishes with a dry film thickness of 150-350µm (750µm flock spray). The coating which is based on an alloy of acid modified polyolefins (halogen free) has been specifically designed to provide a long lasting, tough coating for exterior applications on mild steel, galvanised steel and aluminium. The coating is resistant to stress cracking, adverse weather conditions, detergents, salt spray and typical airborne pollutants. The coating maintains excellent adhesion to the metal substrate without the need for a separate primer and provides a good degree of electrical insulation, abrasion and impact resistance.
Typical applications include fence posts, fencing panels, sign posts, street furniture, balustrading, stadium seating, pipes including potable water, cable tray, ducting, garden furniture, gutter brackets, battery boxes, hand rails, fan guards and wirework.

We
offer a specialist zinc rich powder coating as a primer
for high level corrosive environments and applications
where an extended life expectancy of the surface coating
is required. The specialist powder coating system offers
upto 16 years performance protection in most types of light
industrial applications, urban & industrial environments
with moderate sulphur dioxide pollution, high humidity
and areas of low salinity and is tested against the ISO12944:
1998 standard for the Corrosion Protection of Steel Structures
by Protective Paint Systems.
