Metal Finishing

NSP Coatings Ltd have experience with a wide range of metal finishes some of which are detailed below.

Sheet Metal

We handle a large amount of sheet metal both thin gauge and plate. Examples of sheet metal work we have handled include enclosures and front panels which require high quality finishes, brackets and fabrications which require durable, chemical resistance and corrosion resistant coatings as well as architectural sheetmetal that requires a surface coating that is proof against the elements and holds a consistent colour over time.

Fabrications

Our large oven and heavy lifting capacity means that we can handle most light to medium fabrications. These mild steel frames which are for plasma TV units await powder coating.

Materials we can coat include:

Automotive

We undertake automotive work, alot of it refurbishment of car and motorcycle parts, but also for special purpose vehicles, fork trucks and production work, both OEM and aftermarket. We specialise in the coating of light vehicle chasis upto 1.5 ton and also carry out restoration work.

Heavy Structures

We finish large and heavy structures including machine frames, gantries, balconies, fire escapes, stairways, stringers and treads upto 1.5 tons. We also undertake work on heavy duty London Underground barriers which are 2m long and 1.5m tall made of thick gauge mild steel tubing.

Handrails

These handrails form part of a 3 storey container port side walkway and required a 4 coat system including cleaning, red oxide priming, a chlorinated rubber primer, a yellow single pack alkalide intermediate, and a single pack alkalide gloss top coat.

We are handrail specialists, carrying out work for transport companies, local authorities, architects, and industrial companies all across Kent and the South East of London.

We offer a specialist warm handrail coating to satisfy the requirements of the recent building regulations that require all new handrails to be "not cold to the touch" and to be slip resistant.

Machined Components

We handle a large number of machined components which require initial degreasing and/or shot blasting, and in many cases masking before coating. We can provide tape and plug masking to prevent the coating of surface areas as well as plugs for blind & clear holes. Where particular tolerances are required we can undertake coating to predetermined dry film thickness to customer specifications.

Domestic

We are happy to carry out work for the general public and handle items such as garden furniture, railings, radiators and furniture. We offer a range of coatings to suit both indoor and outdoor applications and can advise on the most suitable finishes for any given job.
